Psalm 46:11 – “The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge.”
Emad Guirguis - Mit Ghamr, Egypt
My nephew, Abanoub Ragai, is 12 years old. He was playing soccer with the other boys on the playground in the church of St. George the Great in Mit Ghamr. After he finished playing, he poured cold water on his head that caused some paralysis in his eye and his jaw. We took him to the doctor who ordered a CT Scan for him. After reviewing the CT Scan and examined my nephew, he confirmed that Abanoub does have paralysis and that it would be very difficult to treat. This occurred on the first day of the fast in 2008.
We went to St. Bishoy’s church in Port Said where I took a bottle of St. Mary’s holy oil from the priest and anointed my nephew’s head with the oil about 7pm. At about 11pm on the same night, Abanoub was sitting with his grandmother, and suddenly, Abanoub was able to move his face, open his eyes, and he was able to start eating. We took him to the docotor who said that Abanoub had made unusually good progress and we informed the doctor that we anointed him with St. Mary’s holy oil.
Abanoub is doing much better now, and is showing about an 80% overall improvement. We thank God and His saints for the work they have done for us. I came today to take some of the holy oil once again and I thank God and St. Mary for this miracle.

The miracle that happened to me occurred through the holy oil from St. Mary’s icon in St. Bishoy’s church in Port Said. I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and had an operation to remove it. Thanks be to God, the operation was successful and afterwards, the doctors asked me to go through chemotherapy. I used to anoint my head with St. Mary’s holy oil and throughout the chemotherapy sessions, I did not even lose my hair. I was completely healed with the intercession of St. Mary.
Psalm 127:3 – “Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD”
Joseph William Kamel – Cairo, Egypt
I got married on February 23, 2006, and for a year and a half of marriage, my wife any I could not conceive a child. After some lab work and visits with the doctor, I was told that I could not have children. After this diagnosis, my wife and I tried artificial insemination, which did not work. Consequently, my wife and I decided to visit St. Bishoy’s church in Port Said where we heard about the story of St. Mary’s Icon secreting holy oil. A priest at the church told us about the story of St. Mary’s Icon and he anointed me with the holy oil from St. Mary’s icon. I told the priest that I was married and for a year and a half, my wife any I could not conceive.
The priest placed his crucifix on my head and my wife’s head as he began to pray for us. He told us that St. Mary is very compassionate with her children and that she would give us and provide us joy in our hearts. The priest gave me a bottle of holy oil to drink from. Shortly after our visit in Port Said, God’s name was glorified. In August 2007, my wife became pregnant, and God blessed us with Stephen who was baptised in St. Mary and the Archangel’s cathedral in Port Said.
We thank St. Mary for her compassion on us and also thank God who was glorified in His saints.

My son was in a car accident on his way back from Cairo on 10/12/2007. He had multiple breaks in his joints, left shin, and his right knee cap. He was told that he would need to have plates and screws inserted to his heel and shin. Some doctors thought it would be necessary to have several operations in order to fix all of his breaks. Other doctors concurred that it was very doubtful that anything could be done to repair his fractures since joint injuries do not heal very well. Another opinion was that the joints would need to be replaced altogether.
After hearing all of these dismal recommendations, I anointed my son with St. Mary’s holy oil that I obtained from St. Bishoy’s church in Port Said. When the doctor came out of the operation room, he informed us that my son would not need the plates or screws afterall and that God willing his injuries will heal on their own. Additionally, it was found unnecessary for any operation to be performed on the injuries in his joints. With the blessing and intercession of St. Mary and her holy oil that I anointed my son with, my son is now able to walk normally – thanks to St. Mary.

I was serving in the army and during my service I was infected with hepatitis C. I suffered a lot from the symptoms of the virus, since I had to receive painful injections every other day for treatment. I went to Dr. Hanna Antoine in Mansoura, Egypt who referred me to Dr. Ibrahim Bekheet Ibrahim who is a liver specialist who requested several labs for me. Meanwhile, I went to St. Bishoy’s Church in Port Said where I obtained some of St. Mary’s holy oil, and drank some of it. On August 15, 2007, after visiting St. Bishoy’s Church, I continued on to the lab at El Haya Medical Center, as requested by Dr. Ibrahim. Not long after completing the lab work, Dr. Ibrahim congratulated me, advising me that all lab results came out negative for the virus.

James 5:14 “Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.”

I thank God and St. Mary who perfomed the following miracle:
My mother, Elaine Riyad was suffering from a liver disease, one which caused excessive bleeding. Due to the amount of bleeding it was actually unclear, at the beginning whether it was due to liver complications or if it was an issue with the uterus. In the midst of the doctor’s uncertainty and struggle with the conclusiveness of several lab and radiology reports, I received some holy oil from the icon of St. Mary from our priest in Ismailaya. I took the holy oil and went to Fayoumwhere I annointed my mom with the holy oil. That same night, our priest in Fayoum also came by our house and annointed her as well, afterwhich, my mom immediately stopped bleeding. I went to St. Bishoy’s church in Port Said to fulfill my promise offering in order to thank St. Mary and St. Bishoy for what they did for my mom.
May the blessings of St. Mary and St. Bishoy be with us all, Amen.

On the night of February 20, 2005 at 9:00pm my family and I were surprised to discover a huge swelling on my right arm. The following day I visited Dr. Ali Shalaby a surgeon who ordered an x-ray and some lab work to determine the cause the swelling. After reviewing the results of my x-ray and lab work, Dr. Shalaby asked me to return in five days for an operation. He mentioned that the operation would not be an easy one. The next day, after meeting with Dr. Shalaby, I visited St. Bishoy church where a priest anointed my arm with the holy oil that had been dripping from the icon of St. Mary. For three consecutive days I annointed myself with the same holy oil. After these three days, the swelling in my arm completely disappeared!
Thanks be to God and the Virgin St. Mary who through her blessing, I didn’t have to have the surgery after all.
Holy Oil from St. Mary Icon in St. Bishoy’s Church – Port Said, Egypt – Miracle 2
Sabah Fawzy Shenouda of Suez, Egypt writes:
Psalm 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
I was diagnosed with urticaria allergy 11 years ago. Over the years, I’ve visited an endless number of doctors who wrote all kinds of medication that never worked. I went to the church of St. Bishoy in Port Said where I watched oil drip from the picture of St. Mary. I took some of the oil and I was immediately cured from long hard years of suffering and sickness.
I still visit the church of St. Bishoy in Port Said from time to time and ask St. Mary to heal all of her children the way she healed me.

On July 30, 2006, I felt a strong pain in my knees so I went to Dr. Mohammed Kamel Mohammed, an Orthopedic Surgeon who diagnosed me with Rheumatoid Arthritis. Dr. Mohammed treated me for three months, with no sign of improvement, instead my condition only worsened. I went to Dr. Mohammed El Tabai in Al Soliman Hospital who ordered an x-ray which showed deterioration in my knees in addition to severe inflammation in my joints. Consequently he recommended surgery, but I was to afraid, and decided not to go through with the operation.
On November 27, 2006 I went to Ava Mina Hospital to Professor Dr. William Wadia and he treated me for more than a year, which included physical therapy sessions, as well as medications for pain and swelling. However, I was not improving, and yet again, my situation was only worsening. The pain was so bad that I could not longer work and my movement was becoming more restricted due to the severity of the pain in addition to stiffness in my neck and my back.
On February 20, 2008, during the dripping of the holy oil from St. Mary’s icon in St. Bishoy Church of Port Said, Egypt I wanted to go but was in too much pain to make a visit. So my son my son went to St. Bishoy Church and brought home a vial of the oil to me. While my son was in the church, I was in tears, praying with all of my heart to my Savior Jesus Christ with the intercession of St. Mary for a touch of healing. As soon as my son gave me the vial of oil, I opened it up and drank it all. I immediately felt that pain leaving my body, and I started moving around normally. I cried out in joy and thanked the mother of light and I said “Glory to You O God, Glory to You O God!”
